Industry-leading awards recognize RGA’s success

The Insurance Connect Awards recognized RGA for the Best E-Underwriting Service and the Best Open Innovation Partnership.

Simon Wainwright has been appointed Executive Vice President, Head of EMEA. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer for the region, and the Managing Director of UK and Ireland.

Arthur Ozeki has been appointed Executive Vice President, Head of Asia (excluding China). He will also oversee the Japanese market. He was previously Senior Vice President, China and Japan for RGA and for RGAX Asia Pacific.

Jason Zhang has been appointed to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Head of China. For RGA Asia, he previously held the roles of Chief Pricing Actuary for Korea, Chief Financial Officer – Asia, and Chief Risk Officer and Chief Pricing Actuary – Asia.

Meanwhile the Asia Insurance Industry Awards named RGA Life Reinsurer of the year, awarded for excellence across a wide range of life reinsurance activities including the integrated use of technology, customer service, marketing, and business development.

Another boost for RGA's longevity business in Europe

RGA announced in February 2022 the completion of a longevity reinsurance transaction with NN Life, the largest life insurance company in the Netherlands, covering approximately €4 billion of underlying reserves. This transaction, effective December 31, 2021, followed on a similar transactions with Athora Netherlands and Aegon Netherlands in 2021. Thus RGA is actively growing its longevity business in continental Europe.
